If Ashley Cole is still unsure about the state of his marriage then this photo should make things crystal clear for him.

His estranged wife Cheryl sent a blatant message to her cheating husband today as she proudly waggled her bare wedding ring finger to the cameras along with a beaming smile.

The singer was – ironically – in Paris, the city of love, but her delight at facing the single life couldn’t have been more apparent.

Cheryl, 26, is in the French capital promoting her new single, and looked absolutely stunning as she left her hotel to do an interview with TV channel Canal+.

In a fitted black, white and lace dress which clung to her curves, her happy face was certainly a far cry from the sombre and woeful look she displayed yesterday.

Gone was the pale face and brave smile and in their place was a glowing and healthy looking girl who looked ready to take on the world.

Only 24 hours ago, observers couldn’t help but notice a pale and thin looking Cheryl as she made one of her first public appearances since her split from Ashley.

Pop babe Cheryl has been voted the most inspirational woman of the Noughties.

The love split star beat off stiff competition from the likes of The Queen and Jennifer Aniston, 41.

More than half the women surveyed claimed the Geordie lass was an idol because of her successful career, while more than a quarter rated her tops because of her natural beauty.

The poll – by cosmetic surgery website goodsurgeonguide.co.uk – named actress Dame Helen Mirren, 64, runner-up.

Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey, 56, was third, with Friends star Jennifer fourth. Fifth went to acid attack victim Katie Piper, 26, and The Queen was sixth.

But the least inspirational woman was Essex glamour model Jodie Marsh, 31, followed by 38-year-old It girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and troubled reality star and former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, 29.

Nadine Coyle has insisted that she offered Cheryl support after her separation from husband Ashley.

Speaking to the News of the World, Coyle admitted that she hadn’t seen her Girls Aloud bandmate when she was in Los Angeles but explained that they had just not had time to meet up.

“I sent Cheryl an email and I called her,” she said. “I was like, ‘Hi’. And she said, ‘I’m in LA’.

“I was working on the album and dashing around. She was working and doing her thing. She wasn’t here for very long so we didn’t get the chance to meet up with each other.”

Coyle also denied reports that she believes Cole is “milking” the split.

“I’ve always been close to Cheryl,” she explained. “We’re completely different people. We respect each other for what we’ve done and the different places we’ve come from in life. It’s offensive to say I think she’s milking a really difficult time in her life for success. I would like to know who’s saying we’ve fallen out because I know it’s not coming from me.”

Cheryl Cole has congratulated comic Rufus Hound on his fundraising spoof of her Fight For This Love dance routine.

Cole told the bearded funnyman “it’s like looking in a mirror” after he performed the routine on Friday’s Sport Relief show on BBC1.

Hound, who won this year’s Let’s Dance for Sport Relief with his impersonation of Cole, copied her military-themed outfit complete with trousers split at the side which showed off his legs.

Cole joked: “You have put so much work into it you have even split your trousers.”

The singer and X Factor judge said watching Hound’s victory last weekend had cheered her up while she was ill in bed.

Cheryl Cole may have had a difficult month following her separation from husband Ashley, but that hasn’t stopped the singer getting on with her career.

Discussing her forthcoming music plans, the ‘Fight For This Love‘ singer revealed that fans may get to hear brand new songs later this year.

Cheryl said: “I’m actually recording some new material and going on tour with The Black Eyed Peas which is exciting and scary. Hopefully later on in the year I’ve got some new stuff to release.”

The ‘3 Words‘ star added: “I want it to be amazing, you know? I want people to be like, ‘Wow, I really, really enjoy this album,’ so I’m not going to put anything out until I feel like that.”

Speaking of her solo career, Cheryl has said that she’d love to record with Gary Barlow, because she’s a fan of the songwriter’s work. Her debut single ‘Fight For This Love‘ is also at the centre of a new legal battle.

The singer claims she’s a big Take That fan but has ruled out performing with a boy band.

She would, however, like to team up with the band’s main songwriter Gary Barlow.

“You have to hand it to Take That. They’re amazing entertainers with fantastic songs and great characters,” she said in a radio interview to be aired tonight.

“When they arrived on the scene, there was such hysteria.”

“They are doing so brilliantly the second time around.”

“I would love to work with Gary Barlow. I think he’s a fantastic lyricist but I’m not into singing with a boy band.”
